Costa Blanca

Costa Blanca (“White Beach”) – part of the Mediterranean coast of Murcia and the Valencian province of Alicante, stretching from the city of Denia to La Manga. The main city of the coast is Alicante, next to which there is an airport.

High mountain ranges surround the Costa Blanca from the land, blocking the path of cold air masses coming from the north, and protecting the coast from sudden temperature changes. There are more than 300 sunny days a year. The warm, favorable Mediterranean climate has determined for these coastal cities a worthy place among the most popular resorts on the globe, visited by tourists at all times of the year.

The coastal landscapes of the Costa Blanca are characterized by the presence of a wide strip of many kilometers of sandy beaches, interrupted by a picturesque series of wild sea cliffs and cliffs hiding secluded bays and bays. In some sections of the coast, orange gardens border directly on the sea beaches, giving the whole area the look of an exotic paradise.

All resort towns on the coast are similar to each other: the boulevard along the coast is planted with palm trees and ficuses, hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs stretch behind it, and many yachts, boats and pleasure boats are moored at the berths.

One of the best resorts on the Costa Blanca is Benidorm. The Levant beach located here is among the ten best beaches in the world. Poniente Beach is a little further from the center. In the center of Alicante there is a beach popular with holidaymakers – Postiguet, but other urban beaches are also good – Albuferetta and Sant Joan.

Gandia, an important tourist and cultural center of the coast of Valencia, is located 65 km south of the eponymous capital of this Spanish autonomy 116 km north of Alicante. For several decades, the old seaside town has been transformed into one of Valencia’s most fashionable seaside resorts.

In Denia, hotels stand along the strip of Las Marinas Beach. Las Rotes beach, with a high rocky shore, is good for spearfishing. The beach in Guardamar del Segura is good, clean and almost deserted, and next to the town there is a ridge of pine dunes overgrown with pine trees. The resort of Torrevieja is becoming increasingly popular and rapidly developing. Local sandy beaches stretch far south of the city.

Altea is a small town 10 km from Benidorm with many art galleries, cafes and bars. Kalp is located about 12 km from Altea at the foot of Mount Ifach, where there is a reserved park area. Javea is located 27 km north of Kalpa and is considered an ideal place for a quiet and relaxing family vacation. Villajoyosa is a small resort famous for its colorful festivities taking place in the middle of summer.

While on the Costa Blanca you can’t fail to visit such attractions as Valencia – a thriving city with a myriad of interesting monuments, palaces and structures of different times; Guadalest is a small mysterious city founded by Arabs high in the mountains; Elche is the oldest city in the region with the famous palm forest and the “Priest’s Garden”, as well as water attractions and a marine animal zoo.

Benidorm is famous for its vibrant nightlife. Compared to other “undersized” Spanish resorts, it seems to be a city of skyscrapers, blazing with the entertaining lights of super-hotels and noisy discos. More than a million tourists come here annually. In the vicinity of Benidorm, a large new Terra Mitica theme park has opened, which is not inferior to Port Aventura, as well as Aitana Safari Park.
