The second ball proved equally disastrous for Canada. Yuvraj Samra, the non-striker, was run out when Pargat Singh's straight drive deflected off bowler Currie onto the stumps, finding Samra out of his crease.
This remarkable sequence marked the first time in 148 years of international cricket that both openers were dismissed on the first two balls of an innings across all formats - Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
Brad Currie continued his impressive bowling spell, claiming three more wickets and reducing Canada to 18/5 in the early stages of the match.
Despite the poor start, Shreyas Movva stepped up with a fighting innings of 60 runs. Support from the lower order helped Canada reach a total of 184 runs before being bowled out.
Scotland's chase proved comfortable, with George Munsey leading the way with an unbeaten 84 runs. Captain Richie Berrington contributed 64 runs to the successful pursuit.
The Scottish team reached their target of 185 runs in 41.5 overs, securing a convincing victory while etching Canada's name in cricket history for an unwanted record.
