Mohamed Salah has urged Liverpool fans to celebrate the club’s summer signings without disrespecting former players who helped secure last season’s Premier League title.

The Egyptian winger responded to a fan account on X (formerly Twitter) which compared Liverpool’s recent arrivals Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz with former stars Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez. The account, which has more than 500,000 followers, posted a graphic of the two pairs of players alongside the caption: “Name a bigger upgrade in footballing history.”

Salah, clearly unhappy with the suggestion, replied: “How about we celebrate the great signings without disrespecting the PL champions?”
